Luxury Cocker Spaniel Clothing, from Paris
On why the cocker spaniel deserves considered clothing, and what we make for it in Paris.
Most luxury dog clothing skips the middle. Toy breeds get the pretty small pieces. Large breeds get the technical outerwear. The cocker spaniel — mid-sized, deep-chested, ear-forward — falls between the two and often ends up dressed in something meant for another dog.
Our regular sizing is drafted on this square-bodied silhouette from S through L. Which is why the closure lands where it should, the belt reaches the waist, and the collar sits well below the ear.
What the cocker asks of a coat
The cocker sits between the small and the standard. Not toy, not large. Deep in the chest and long in the ear. What that means for clothing:
The collar has to sit well below the ear. A collar that rides too high catches on the ear feather every step, and the dog will notice long before you do. Our collars are drafted low and clean, so the ear falls where it should.
The chest needs room without excess. A working spaniel has a deeper chest than the industry pattern assumes for its back length. Our sizing accounts for this — chest measurement matters as much as back length, and we grade both.
The hem should end at the base of the tail, not before. Nothing looks worse on a cocker than a coat that stops mid-back, exposing the loin. Ours end where they should.

On the atelier — Paris
Every piece of cotton, softshell, and technical fabric is handmade in our own atelier in Paris — cut and finished one at a time, by one person, from cut to seam. The manual embroidery machine that personalizes the Bleu de Paris sits in the same room.
Every piece of baby alpaca knitwear is hand-loomed in Huancayo, Peru, at 4,200 metres above sea level, by our own team of women artisans. The looms are manual — flat frames operated entirely by hand, without electricity or automation. The pieces are then assembled by hand: the seams closed, the buttons sewn on one by one.
We work in small batches because the alternative is to make poorly. We do not over-produce. Some pieces are numbered — a quiet mark, sewn into the inside placket, for the person who notices.
On sizing the cocker
Cockers vary. English Cockers tend to sit at S or M. American Cockers, slightly smaller, often fit XS or S. Working Cockers, longer-bodied, sometimes need L.
Three measurements matter more than the size chart:
- Back length — from the base of the collar to the base of the tail
- Chest — the widest point, just behind the front legs
- Neck — where the collar sits
If your cocker falls between two sizes, choose the larger. A coat should sit with ease across the chest, not pull.

On care
Every piece is designed to last. Cotton and technical pieces are machine or hand-washable on gentle cycles, with detail-specific care instructions in every product page. Baby alpaca requires hand-washing cold with a wool-safe detergent — cared for properly, it softens with every wash rather than pilling.
The technical fabrics we use are finished without PFCs, and the water-repellent finish can be refreshed with a reproofing spray, the way you re-wax a Barbour. Small-batch does not mean fragile. It means considered.
