La Pluie is defined by its softshell exterior — water-repellent and windproof — lined in 100% Pima cotton, drafted from scratch for the teckel's long-bodied frame, so the proportions read correctly from collar to tail.

A cotton lining on a softshell is rarely seen in dog clothing, because it is slow, demanding work. It is a craft we keep doing by hand, and a natural choice for dogs with allergies and for dog parents who want to protect their dog's skin.

  • XXS — Teckel Kaninchen, 3–4 kg
  • XS — Teckel Nain, 5 kg
  • S — Teckel Nain, 6–7 kg
  • M — Teckel Standard, 8–8.5 kg
  • L — Teckel Grand Standard, 9–10+ kg

Composition

Shell: technical softshell, water-repellent and windproof, finished without PFCs. Lining: Pima cotton across the back, soft against the skin. Closures: velcro on both sides for an adjustable fit; double zipper opening for harness or collar; impermeable YKK zipper. Covered soft placket. Handmade in France in numbered runs.

The Teckel La Pluie Softshell is drafted exclusively for dachshunds — Kaninchen, Miniature, and Standard.

Available sizes
· XXS — very small Kaninchen dachshunds
· XS — Kaninchen dachshunds
· S — small Miniature dachshunds
· M — Miniature dachshunds
· L — Standard dachshunds

How to measure
· Back length — from the base of the collar to the base of the tail
· Chest — the widest point, just behind the front legs
· Neck — where the collar sits

If your dachshund falls between two sizes, choose the larger. A softshell should sit with ease across the chest, not pull.

care & traceability

Care
Wipe clean with a damp cloth between wears. For deeper cleaning, hand-wash cold or machine-wash on a delicate cycle with a mild detergent — never use bleach or fabric softener, which strip the water-repellent finish. Rinse thoroughly. Lay flat to dry, away from direct sunlight or heat. Do not tumble dry.

The water-repellent finish can be refreshed over time with a reproofing spray designed for softshell fabric.

Store on a soft hanger or folded with the back flat.

The engraved brass label is finished with a heat-cured protective resin and will not tarnish, dull, or lift — even after machine washing.

Traceability
Designed in Paris. Handmade in France, in our own atelier.

The softshell shell is water-repellent, windproof, and finished without PFCs. The 100% Pima cotton lining is soft against the skin, and a rare detail in dog clothing because of the time it takes to make. The YKK impermeable zipper is one of the most durable closures made anywhere in the world.

Each La Pluie Softshell is numbered in the order it was made.

Colette et Gastón works in small batches because the alternative is to make poorly. We do not over-produce.
