The Teckel High Neck Sweater

Yarn: 100% baby alpaca. Stitch: cable knit, hand-loomed on manual flat looms. Collar: folded high neck, doubles as a hood. Construction: drafted on a long-bodied frame for the dachshund, with sleeves and ribbed cuffs. Hand-loomed and assembled in Huancayo, Peru.

The Teckel High Neck Sweater is drafted exclusively for dachshunds — Kaninchen, Miniature, and Standard.

How to measure
· Back length — from the base of the collar to the base of the tail
· Chest — the widest point, just behind the front legs
· Neck — where the collar sits

If your dachshund falls between two sizes, choose the larger. A sweater should sit with ease across the chest, not pull.

Care
Hand-wash cold with a mild detergent designed for wool or fine fibres — never use regular detergent, which strips the natural oils from the alpaca. Soak for no more than 10 minutes. Rinse gently. Press the water out with a towel — do not wring or twist. Lay flat to dry, away from direct sunlight or heat. Reshape while damp.

If washing in a delicate-cycle machine, always place the sweater in a wash care bag to protect the brass label.

Cared for this way, baby alpaca softens with every wash rather than pilling. The fibre is naturally hypoallergenic, breathable, and lanolin-free.

Store folded, not hung, with a piece of cedar to keep moths away. Avoid plastic bags.

The engraved brass label is finished with a heat-cured protective resin and will not tarnish, dull, or lift — even after machine washing.

Traceability
Designed in Paris. Hand-loomed and assembled by our team of women artisans in Huancayo, Peru, at 4,200 metres above sea level.

Every piece is loomed on manual flat looms — machines operated entirely by hand, without electricity or automation — then assembled by hand: the pieces joined, the seams closed, the collar folded and set.

The yarn itself is spun by Michell & Cía, Arequipa, under Fair Trade Peru certification (BPCJ). Coloured without azo dyes, compliant with OEKO-TEX and REACH.

Colette et Gastón works in small batches because the alternative is to make poorly. We do not over-produce.

Returns
14 days from delivery, in original condition. Knitwear that has been washed cannot be returned.
