2. The fabric is named and honest
Real luxury names its fabrics. Baby alpaca from Peru. Water-repellent technical cotton, PFC-free finish. Organic cotton. "Premium fabric" is not a fabric.
3. The construction is transparent
How many people made the coat. Where it was made. Whether the finishing is done by hand or by machine. Small-batch atelier makers publish this. Mass producers do not.
4. The price makes sense
A hand-loomed baby alpaca sweater cannot cost €40. A technical water-repellent trench cannot cost €60. If the price is too low for the claim, the claim is wrong. Real luxury dachshund pieces sit between €70 and €300 for most items, depending on material.
What to avoid
- Amazon and general marketplaces — the luxury claims are almost always false
- Etsy for anything technical (raincoats, coats) — hand-sewing does not mean drafted for dachshunds
- Instagram-ad-only brands with no atelier information and prices under €50 for coats
- Any brand that cannot answer where the pattern was drafted from

How to decide which piece to buy first

A few things worth knowing before ordering
- Every piece is numbered — a small mark sewn into the inside placket, showing the place it holds within its run
- Some colours are limited to 70 pieces per run (Heirloom capsule pieces) and do not return once sold out
- Cotton pieces with embroidery need one extra business day for the personalization to be sewn by hand in our Paris atelier
- If you are between sizes, size up. A coat that pulls at the chest is a coat the dog will fight to take off
