La Pluie Softshell + The Dots Sweater. The shield, and what it shields.
Winter dog clothing usually solves one problem at a time. A warm dog sweater keeps a dog's body heat in, but does nothing against wind or rain. A waterproof dog coat keeps water out, but worn alone over bare fur, it leaves a dog cold underneath. Most owners end up buying one or the other — rarely both, and rarely a set designed to work together.
Le Système La Pluie is built as a true layering system for cold, wet weather: a warm inner layer and a windproof, water-repellent outer layer, sized and sold together.
The inner layer: warmth against the skin
The Dots sweater sits directly against a dog's coat. A dog's skin is thinner and more exposed than ours, worn against fabric all day — so the yarn is chosen for softness as much as warmth, holding heat through the coldest months without irritating sensitive skin.
The outer layer: wind and rain, blocked
La Pluie is the shield: a windproof, water-repellent softshell exterior, fully lined in 100% cotton so nothing rough or synthetic sits against the dog underneath the coat.
Worn together
Layered as a set, a dog is protected on daily walks from October through March — warm first, weather second, in the order that actually keeps a dog comfortable in cold, wet conditions.
The sweater is hand-loomed by our artisans in Huancayo, Peru. The coat is cut and finished in our Paris atelier. Both pieces ship together, sized to match.
