What luxury dog clothing should mean
Luxury dog clothing starts with the fibre, not the finish. It is cut for a dog's body, made by hand, and kept for years. Price alone proves none of it.
Colette et Gastón is a Paris maison. Our knitwear is made by hand in Huancayo, Peru. Our shirts and fabric pieces are designed in Paris and cut and sewn in our Paris atelier.
Knitwear, made by hand in Peru
Our sweaters are made by artisans on our team in Huancayo, in the central highlands of Peru, on manual flat looms. A hand slides the carriage across the needle bed, row after row. A single piece takes several days.
The fibre is named on every piece. The Baby Alpaca Polo Sweater and the Honeycomb Degradé are pure baby alpaca. Our alpaca Nuance, Dots and La Tresse are alpaca blends. All three also exist in 100% Peruvian cotton. Knitwear starts at €120.
Outerwear, designed in Paris
La Pluie is our softshell raincoat, windproof and water-repellent. The Trench Rain-coat is structured to hold its line in the rain. The Teckel Trench is cut for the dachshund, in five sizes named for back length: 30, 35, 38, 42 and 45 centimetres.

Shirts and essentials
Our shirts are cut and sewn in our Paris atelier, with cuffs finished by hand and a concealed closure. The Épuré is a fine striped cotton. The Muslin is lighter, made for summer, and is certified GOTS. It is the only piece we certify as such. The Marinière is a striped Breton polo for the days in between.
How to tell luxury dog clothing from the rest
Is the material declared precisely? An honest composition fits on one line. Be wary of an adjective where a percentage should be.
Is the origin named? Where the piece is made, and by whom, should be easy to find.
Is it made to last? A piece kept for several winters costs less per year than one replaced every winter.
